The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of an 8-week aerobic exercise program on the body composition
of obese female subjects. Ten female subjects who were included in the obesity classification were voluntarily
participated in the study by looking at body mass index coming to a fitness center in Giresun. The average age of
the women participating in the study was 29,5 ± 12,3 ) height average (163 ± 4.76 cm). The aerobic exercise
program specially designed for obese women was applied. Before the exercises, the subjects were pre-tested for
body weight, body fat percentage, and body mass index values. The aerobic exercise program consisted of 3 days
per week for 60 days and 60 minutes per day for 8 weeks. The SPSS 16.0 statistical program was used for the
analysis of the results. The normality test of the patients was performed by the Shapiro-Wilk test and it was
understood that the data distribution was normal. Paired Sample T-test was used to compare the pre- and post test
results of the subjects (P <0.05). It was found that obese subjects who applied aerobic exercise program had a
significant difference in body weight, body fat percentage and body mass index values (p <0.05).
As a result; aerobic exercise program has been shown to contribute positively to body fat body fat index and body
mass index values of obese individuals.
